For some reason, last.fm doesn't seem to enjoy the popularity of other streaming audio services. I received just one recommendation for it when I asked for recommendations recently. Maybe it's uncool . . . I have no idea. (Since I'm probably uncool, that would make it a good fit.)

At any rate, I've given it a shot over the past two weeks. It seems fairly decent. I fed it my "most played" acts for starter material and it hit my tastes pretty much dead-on, pointing me at a lot of mainly Euro-style electro, electroclash, etc. with a preponderance of female vocalists. Which is, for the most part, the music I prefer. I'd never heard of Ellen Allien, Emmon, The Faint, The Hacker, The Knife, Robots in Disguise, Thermostatic, Warren Suicide, or Vive la Fête, or sat down and actually listened to more than one well-known song by Chicks on Speed, Electrocute, or Miss Kittin. Now I have. Cool.
