Another week in the life of GURPS

This week's GURPS update will be short because I'm still recovering from an illness and because said illness kept me from making as much progress as I would have liked:

• We reviewed the rough PDF of GURPS Hot Spots: Renaissance Florence, the latest from Matt Riggsby ([info]wombattery). I liked what I saw . . . which means that this one should be uploaded sometime in the next couple of weeks.

• Playtesting is over on GURPS Urban Magics, by Bill Stoddard ([info]whswhs). Bill and I have been working on a few rules puzzles raised by the playtesters. Overall, the project looks like it's on target.

• Playtesting proceeds on GURPS Spaceships 5 and GURPS Spaceships 6, both by David Pulver. Based on what I've seen, that seems to be going well.

• I finally finished my review of the first draft of GURPS Horror, by Ken Hite. Excellent! We'll require a few good geeks to check stats during the playtest, which will probably happen sometime during the June-July period, after the GURPS Low-Tech and GURPS Gun Fu playtests.

• And speaking of GURPS Gun Fu, Hans-Christian Vortisch and I continue to devise rules for that item and its sequel (every good shoot-em-up has a sequel . . .).

In my corner of the world started a GURPS TL9 Time Travel campaign today. We have rotating GMs and lots of player input for the setting. Time travel is only into the past and requires more power the closer you are to the present. The PCs are rebels trying to prevent a shadowy corporation from subverting the true timeline for their own purposes; damn revisionists!

PCs include a psychic (and psycho) teenaged girl who acts as the 'navigator' for time-trips, a scientist who built the time-travel machine and the AI which manages it (called "Google"), a uplifted raven, a cyborg warrior, a naturalist explorer, and a professor of historical psycho-linguistics...
