Ah, that's right . . . you've never hung out with me in person! My hair is usually like that. I'm compulsive about showering when I get up in the morning, and the first thing I do after that is wrap a towel around myself and smuck gel into my hair. I've done this for at least 23 years; it's a bad '80s habit. And since I tell my hairdresser to keep my hair short -- I consider it terribly long and in need of a cut in that photo -- the result is spiky.

Whereas the not-being-shaved part is atypical. I usually bother to shave. So the facial hair is what I see in the photo. The hair on top of my head might as well be invisible!
