Another two weeks in the life of GURPS

This week is named Szarlotka. This update is a little thin because while it covers two weeks, I've only been back at work for four days of it!

• We released Pyramid #3/34: Alternate GURPS. Even the biggest GURPS fans run into rules they don't quite like. This entire issue is dedicated to solutions to various "problems" of this kind. It's probably the most "meta" issue yet!

• I completed my latest little writing project and turned it in for production. I still can't reveal much, although I can say that it will be around 20 pages long and of general interest to GURPS fans (i.e., it isn't part of a genre-specific series).

• Playtesting on the Discworld Roleplaying Game, by Phil Masters ([livejournal.com profile] phil_masters), is ticking along nicely.

• I'm just about done reviewing the first draft of a new GURPS Martial Arts supplement.

Also, I've received my advance copy of the GURPS Horror hardback. Lookin' good!

With a new supplement coming up does that mean Martial Arts is going back into print?

It's still in print, in fact. The "Low Stock" light is on, but copies are still available; see here. We do not currently have reprint plans.

Martial artsy stuff

Hrm! Interesting!

At what stage does an advance copy live in the printing process? Does that mean GURPS Horror may ship relatively soon?

Advance copies roll off the same presses as the main run, and at the same time. Then they're shipped to a few key people almost overnight, often via courier, while the bulk of the run travels freight in boxes. On August 27, SJ told me that they had copies of Horror to sell at PAX, and the posted ship date is August 29, so "today" is an honest answer.
