Another week in the life of GURPS
More GURPS! Bwahahaha!
• Phil Masters' GURPS Thaumatology: Age of Gold was uploaded this week. Check it out! I would describe it as a really nifty, pulpy take on supers.
• We reviewed the near-final PDF of Jason Levine's GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 5: Allies. Look for that relatively soon!
• We reviewed a rough PDF of David Pulver's GURPS Banestorm: Abydos this week, and it looks to be in the pipe for a near-future release as well.
• I handed in the final, edited draft of David Pulver's GURPS Mass Combat. It's now in the production process. Expect to see it before too, too long.
• I've started reviewing the first draft of that new Bill Stoddard item I mentioned last week. He's still waiting for the contract, so I still can't tell you the title -- sorry!
• Volker Bach and Peter Dell'Orto's first draft of GURPS Martial Arts: Gladiators is in. I'll be reviewing that next.
And yeah, the cat is out of the bag regarding Pyramid. I'm sure there will be comments about that here.

Re: Pyramid, I'm just curious how it'll affect my writing...what will I get paid, are the guidelines changed, do I need to clear what I'm writing ahead of time, etc. Pyramid has been a good way for me to keep up my writing and make a few bucks. I'm worried it'll become more e23-like. I won't be able to just bang out some material bouncing around my head and send it in, but rather need to go through a lengthy (and enthusiasm-killing) back-and-forth before I submit.
We'll see what happens.

Of course, the new writers' guidelines haven't been posted yet, but I suspect the biggest change for authors will be that, because of the schedule change and themed issues, there'll be potentially more of a lag between submission and publication. I can't see them requiring proposals or using templates if they're going to keep working with a constant stream of brand new hopeful authors.

The wombat has it right. I, too, wrote an early article. It was like writing . . . any other Pyramid article. It wasn't much like my work on, say, the Action or DF PDFs. (And no, being an insider doesn't change things all that much either way.) The final product looks more like another e23 PDF than like web content, but that's an issue of production values, not editorial oversight.
Of course, the new writers' guidelines haven't been posted yet
Which is why I'm not trying to answer Peter's other questions. Steven (
