It's certainly a "killer app"

This is just . . . strange. A little app that turns your iPhone into a ballistic computer for, say, sniping. I'm sort of interested, even though I don't own a single gun. Has anybody actually bought and used this?

That's pretty pricey for the casual shooter, and frankly I am skeptical that an Ipod Touch would hold up to the shock of being attached to some of the guns that long range precision shooters use... FWIW "sniper" refers to two things: 1) military snipers or 2) anyone using a long ranged rifle that scares GFW's (gun fearing weenies, the technical term). Those who qualify as #2 prefer the term precision shooters, as it doesn't conjure up images of maniacs gunning down nuns and babies so readily.

By "shock of being attached", I meant the vibration from the often quite powerful (.338 Lapua, .308, .50BMG, et cetera) gun being fired... not some notion that the Ipod Touch might find the idea of being attached to a gun physically repellent.

Me fail English? That unpossible!

Sniping

Oh, you mean not in an eBay sense of the word.

Some people do long-range target shooting for fun. Not me of course. Too danged far to walk just to set up the target and then go and check the results. I don't expect it's gonna sell well, but it's a fun thing to do for those that like physics programming.

I will say this though, it's probably much more useful than a "fart" app.

Couldn't you turn it into a ballistic computer by just, y'know, throwing it?
