Another week in the life of GURPS
You probably aren't here for the punch and pie. In fact, there is no pie, although technically there's Punch. No, you're probably here to learn whether we did any work on GURPS this week.
• We released GURPS Thaumatology: Alchemical Baroque, by Phil Masters. This was originally part of GURPS All-Star Jam 2004, but it has been updated with new rules and extra content. If you enjoyed the original and/or Phil's wonderful GURPS Thaumatology: Age of Gold, then you'll definitely want this!
• We reviewed the rough PDF of GURPS Spaceships 5: Exploration and Colony Spacecraft, by David Pulver. Expect to be seeking out new life and new civilizations in the first half of October.
• I continue to edit GURPS Low-Tech, by Peter Dell'Orto (
peterdellorto), Dan Howard, Matt Riggsby (
wombattery), and Bill Stoddard (
whswhs). I am at the 44% mark by page count. The news of the week is that I slew the massive melee weapons section. That called for my macuahuilzoctli, but now it's done (and covered in obsidian flakes).
• GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Treasure Tables, by Matt Riggsby (
wombattery), and GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Summoners, by Phil Masters, both saw forward movement. I'm confident that we'll be finding ornate bottles that summon demons in the next couple of months.
• My stalwart assistant, PK (
peekitty) – who isn't the mummified kitty in my avatar, for those who asked – just outlined the first two PDFs he'll be writing from scratch on the clock. I can't reveal the details this far in advance, but rest assured that while GURPS Low-Tech may be eating my brain, there's a GURPS guru out there working on keen stuff for you.
