Another week in the life of GURPS

So . . . what did we actually do this week? This and that:

• We released GURPS Spaceships 5: Exploration and Colony Spacecraft, by David Pulver. For those who heard rumors about "p. 00s" in place of cross-references: We fixed that in the current download, illustrating why I think PDFs are awesome . . .

• We reviewed the PDF of Pyramid #3/12: Tech & Toys. To be precise, Nikki, PK ([info]peekitty), and Steven ([info]waitingforgo) reviewed it. That should be ready to roll sometime in the next couple of weeks.

• My edit of GURPS Low-Tech hit the 60% mark by page count. It was slowed by hitting the part with tons of tables in it. No matter how good the authors are, tables always have missing stats and fiddly bits. I think that the culverins and incendiary blowpipes benefited from the effort, though.

• The final draft of GURPS Spaceships 7: Strange and Alien Spacecraft, by David Pulver, arrived this week. That's two milestones for the series in one week!

• The first draft of GURPS Spaceships 8: Transhuman Spacecraft, also by David Pulver, arrived this week. That's three milestones – wow! – and marks the end of the series' planned run. But, you know, space is big.

• A bunch of proposals got approved this week, including items from Peter Dell'Orto ([info]peterdellorto), Scott Maykrantz, and Bill Stoddard ([info]whswhs). And as you can probably deduce, David Pulver is discussing what will follow his GURPS Spaceships series.

• To hear me plug GURPS Thaumatology: Alchemical Baroque (by Phil Masters) and GURPS Gun Fu (by S.A. Fisher, Hans-Christian Vortisch, and y.t.), tune in to this week's RPG Countdown.

Coolness! I look forward to having the contract show up, signing it, and then commenting on my neat new project.

You have to hype it more! Give people hints!

"A NEW EXCITING PROJECT by uber-writer and master of martial arts, Peter Dell'Orto! What could it possibly be about? Stay tuned and find out!"

Now it's not just another supplement. That's what it's all about.

Well, you can say that. I have to be more circumspect, at least until the first draft actually exists. :)
