Another week in the life of GURPS

It's Friday? Sheesh. Here's the latest GURPS news:

• Jason Levine and Scott Maykrantz's GURPS Creatures of the Night 4 is uploaded!

• I thoroughly reviewed and stats-checked the first draft of Jason Levine's GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 5: Allies. Truth be told, I spent most of the week on it. I found only minor nitpicks, and recommended to [info]waitingforgo that we fast-track it.

• I reviewed another rough PDF of GURPS Action 2: Exploits, and provided Nikki with some more content to get the pages "just so" . . . so not only were there no cuts, but you'll be getting extra stats for a few items of tech and a couple of foes. Keen.

• That GURPS Martial Arts supplement I hinted at is coming along nicely. I spend an hour on the phone with one of the authors, and some more time in e-mail, and it looks like we've cracked all the rules nuts.

Is Allies discussed anywhere accessible?

Not that I know of . . . We're pretty much fast-tracking "my" series (Action, Dungeon Fantasy, and Power-Ups) from conception to upload, so there has been minimal discussion. Anyway, it's a PDF on Allied animals, spirits, and familiars for PCs created with Dungeon Fantasy 1, plus support for using the animals as druidic shapeshifting forms à la Dungeon Fantasy 3.

Apologies for the broken tag. Writing on not enough coffee.

That bodes well for response time to the DF item I recently queried Steven about.

That said, want Action 2. Rules tend to do me more good than templates, and that's going to have rules I want very badly indeed.

Awesome, Allies is definitely a DF book I want to see (though I'd been thinking of pitching it with the title "Followers and Hirelings" which isn't quite as punchy).

The DF line is really filling out nicely. That allies one sounds good.

It's quite nifty. It doesn't assume lame, easy-to-kill beasts. These are . . . dire, dire things. They're serious threats, useful as monsters, fighting Allies, Shapeshifting forms, etc. And they come with point costs as templates and as Allies, so nobody can complain.

Sterrance!
