Another week in the life of GURPS

This week is named Benjamin, and finds me with a cold, so I'm writing this early and keeping it brief:

GURPS Horror, by Ken Hite ([livejournal.com profile] princeofcairo), is now in prepress checking. That's the step that comes before (wait for it!) a book goes to press.

• I finished my review of the preview PDF of GURPS Monster Hunters 2: The Mission, by Jason "PK" Levine ([livejournal.com profile] peekitty). This means that it, too, will be in prepress very shortly ("prepress" being a strange term here, as the product will be a PDF).

• Meanwhile, PK ([livejournal.com profile] peekitty) just finished his review of Pyramid #3/30: Spaceships.

• I finished my edit of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 13: Loadouts, by Matt Riggsby ([livejournal.com profile] wombattery). I still have some boring administrative tasks on my plate, but the file should head to production next week.

• PK ([livejournal.com profile] peekitty) passed the 3/4 mark on his edit of GURPS Reign of Steel: Will to Live, by Roger Burton West.

• The first draft of another GURPS Locations item – this one by Bill Stoddard ([livejournal.com profile] whswhs) – is now in house. Yes, that makes three new Locations items in various stages of review.

I'm glad to have its arrival confirmed. I've been resisting the urge to e-mail SM to say "'d'ja get it? 'd'ja get it? huh?" because I'm torn between wanting confirmation and knowing he's as busy as the proverbial three-legged cat in a litterbox. I look forward to the results of the review.

Yeah, the biggest downside to PDF releases is having dozens of small projects on the go at once. When you're working on them, the fact that they're small is irrelevant. And of course the gear-switching is maddening. Add in the fact that GURPS = Jason, Nikki, Steven, and Sean, when it used to be most of what a dozen staff did, and you can see how it gets crazy.

Anyway, yes, we have the first draft of GURPS Locations: W□□□□□□□□□l in house.

Hope you get well from that cold soon.

I'm looking forward to GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 13: Loadouts

Well, it's my first location book. I hope that I've gotten reasonably close to what such a book needs to be; I trust the review will lead to feedback on how to do it better. As you know, I've got other ideas on the spike if this one does well.
