This week is named Ricky, because he's silly. And here's what happened in GURPS:
• We released Pyramid #3/25: Epic Magic. I pimped it in the forums, but here's the short version: This one is about magic that can change, even create, a world . . . or at least give it a good shaking.
• GURPS Supporting Cast: Age of Sail Pirate Crew, by Nicholas Lovell, moved into prepress. We finally got our sloops, swivel-guns, and boarding pikes shipshape.
• The preview PDF of GURPS Low-Tech Companion 3: Daily Life and Economics, by Matt Riggsby (wombattery) and Bill Stoddard (
whswhs), is just about through its review. We're almost done making all the content tweaks pertaining to things like butchers and cows.
• Nikki did a rough pour of GURPS Horror, by Ken Hite (princeofcairo). This in no way means that it's close to release – it isn't even ready for art yet – but this is a milestone that tells us that the book is moving through our process more quickly than GURPS Low-Tech did.
• I'm at the 47% mark by word count on my edit of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 1, by Peter Dell'Orto (peterdellorto) with y.t. I stopped at "leaping leeches." Eew.
• The call for playtesters for GURPS Social Engineering, by Bill Stoddard (whswhs), is now posted in our forums. It's like a playtest within a playtest, seeing how well the expanded search-roll mechanics work as we seek out playtesters . . .
