. . . is out. Please excuse the shameless pimping of my latest publication.

Yesterday, Steven Marsh sent me the first set of "playtest comments" -- more like editorial comments -- on GURPS Action 2: Exploits. He actually requested more detail in several places, so I guess the length didn't bother him. Phew! Anyway, I sat down for a few hours this evening and revised the ms. I hope that people will be able to buy, download, and read the thing within the month. We'll see.

I created this account over a week ago . . . and was only able to get back in again today. That's a great start, no? I certainly hope that livejournal is a little more reliable than that most of the time!

Anyway, given that I work with the written word 8-10 hours a day, every day, I won't promise that I'll be in here all the time, scribbling random thoughts. No, I can get paid by the hour for my random thoughts, as long as they're about GURPS. Such are the benefits of being a games-industry salaryman.

Speaking of which, I turned in my first draft of GURPS Action 2: Exploits yesterday. It took forever to write owing to my running about being a line developer, attending GenCon, and generally playing at being, well, a games-industry salaryman. Still, I'm glad that it's done. It proved to be much harder to write than GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 2: Dungeons, because while both are "how to handle typical events in a gaming genre," action stories nominally take place in the real world, so I couldn't invoke "It's magic!" whenever I hit an impasse. I'm proud of the results, though. We'll see how Steven Marsh at e23 feels when he realizes it's closer to 48 pages than to the 32 pages he asked for. Heh.

And now, back to work. I can justify making this as long as a cup of coffee, but probably no longer, during working hours.
