This past week, I spent most of my time emptying my mailbox so that I could guiltlessly head to Austin for meetings next week . . . and the rest of the time queuing up news items so that we could meet in peace. Still, GURPS never rests:
• We uploaded Pyramid #3/3: Venturing Into the Badlands – Post-Apocalypse. Whether you're into dog skull, zombies, or roleplaying in the Car Wars background, you should find something you like here.
• The production monsters asked me to clarify some GURPS Fantasy errata, suggesting that work on the reprint is afoot.
• We reviewed what should be the near-final PDF of GURPS Loadouts: Monster Hunters, the guide to TL6-8 monster-slaying hardware by S.A. Fisher and Hans-Christian Vortisch. I say "should be" due to a last-minute change in presentation that we hope will make this item more useful.
• We reviewed the latest PDF of GURPS Locations: Metro of Madness, by Fade Manley and Bevan Thomas. It's exactly what it sounds like: a creepy subway station, ready to use in your modern-day campaign.
• I handed in the final, edited draft of my own GURPS Thaumatology: Magical Styles. It's all about making a wizard's background and philosophy relevant to his abilities. Now we wait for layout and art.
• Contracts are in for GURPS Gun Fu, the supplement on cinematic firearms combat by S.A. Fisher, Hans-Christian Vortisch, and me. That means you could call it "official."
• I approved a new GURPS Dungeon Fantasy outline. That makes two items in the series awaiting contracts. If all goes well, that means at least two new installments in 2009.
